Episode 4 - Kauai Overview

Student of the culture Kainoa Horcajo and Chef Mike Lofaro explore the vast lands mauka of Lihu'e.  The moon phase and time of year have the ocean churning so they search the forest. First up, pigs. Their guide is pig-hunter Boyd Gayagos who cares for the Grove Farm property and Boyd's friends. It's a first for both Kainoa and Mike and this muddy adventure got their heart beating. Of course this calls for an imu and they're shown the ropes, step by step, while their hosts are impressed with Chef Mike's creative twist on kalua pig.  Plans to go prawning in the mountain stream didn't go quite as planned, so the next best thing? Frogging. As Mike quickly found out, it's not the easiest thing to do. A unique adventure calls for a unique preparation of frog legs; let's just say it involved coconuts, a Thai influence and the imu.  Enjoy!
