Episode 2 - Moloka'i Overview

SEARCH Hawaii visits the island of Moloka'i. Chef Mike Lofaro and student of the culture Kainoa Horcajo are on the hunt in a season when the animals are active on 'aina momona, the island of abundance, Moloka'i.  Legendary Hawaiian musician Brother Noland is an expert tracker who takes them deer hunting.  They read the signs and stalk their prey for a meal that will feed a few families that night. Brother Noland also gives them a lesson in the Hawaiian art and skill of throwing net and the patience needed to find the fish, throw the net sparingly and walk away if you have to.  Then they travel to a ranch on the east side that's been in the same family for generations.  Chef Mike finds some cacao to compliment the venison he prepares three ways for dinner.  It's not an easy task to please the Moloka'i palette used to a steady diet of venison, but the shaka's were aplenty with Chef Mike's mouth-watering and tender take.
